Ruben is op 9-jarige leeftijd begonnen met racen op een minibike. Op 10-jarige leeftijd wist hij daarmee op een 3e plaats te eindigen in het Nederlands Kampioenschap Minibike Junioren A. Daarna stapte hij over naar het Molenaar NSF100 kampioenschap waar hij in 2016 eindigde op een 4e plaats in het kampioenschap. In datzelfde jaar werd hij Belgisch kampioen in het Junior GP kampioenschap NSF100 in België.

 

In 2017 maakte Ruben de overstap naar de grote baan - in de ADAC Northern Europe Cup Moto3 en in 2018 naar de European Talent Cup (Moto3) in het FIM CEV Repsol kampioenschap. In 2017 en 2018 is Ruben tevens uitgenodigd geweest voor de selectiedagen van de MotoGP Redbull Rookies Cup in Spanje. Ruben wist beide keren de finale te bereiken.

 

In 2019 heeft Ruben de overstap gemaakt van de Moto3 naar het SuperSport 300 kampioenschap. Onder contract van het Pearle Gebben Racing Team is hij uitgekomen in het IDM kampioenschap (Internationale Deutsche Motorradmeisterschaft). In zijn debuutjaar heeft hij grote stappen gemaakt en wist maar liefst 6 podiumplaatsen te halen. Uiteindelijk is hij op een 4e plaats in het kampioenschap geëindigd. Ook in 2021 kwam hij met dit team uit in het IDM, wat een verkort seizoen werd vanwege COVID-19, maar ook hier wist hij een aantal podiums te halen.

In 2021 heeft Ruben de overstap gemaakt naar het FIM SuperSport 300 World Championship (www.worldsbk.com). In dit jaar heeft Ruben vooral kennis gemaakt met voor hem nieuwe banen en het nieuwe kampioenschap. Terwijl Ruben tot nu toe met een Yamaha had gereden, maakte hij in 2022 de overstap naar het MtM team met een Kawasaki. In dat jaar maakte Ruben veel progressie en wist voortdurend in de top 10 te eindigen.

In 2023 is Ruben in de World SBK 300 overgestapt naar Yamaha. Tegelijkertijd kwam hij in 2023 Ruben met het Nederlandse Apreco Team - ondersteund door Ten Kate Racing Products en Yamaha Motor Europe (Benelux) in het IDM kampioenschap (www.idm.de) uit en wist daar podium te behalen in Schleiz. In 2024 is Ruben teruggekeerd naar de Kawasaki, met het Franse team Flembbo-PL Performances.  Daarnaast zal Ruben wederom in het IDM kampioenschap actief zijn met het Freudenberg KTM-Paligo Racing Team.

Ruben started racing on a minibike at the age of 9. At the age of 10 he managed to finish in 3rd place in the Dutch Championship Minibike Juniors A. Then he switched to the Molenaar NSF100 Championship where he finished in 4th place in the championship in 2016. In the same year he became Belgian champion in the Junior GP Championship NSF100 in Belgium.

 

In 2017 Ruben made the switch to the big track - in the ADAC Northern Europe Cup Moto3 and in 2018 to the European Talent Cup (Moto3) in the FIM CEV Repsol Championship. In 2017 and 2018 Ruben was also invited to the selection days of the MotoGP Redbull Rookies Cup in Spain. Ruben managed to reach the finals both times.

 

In 2019, Ruben made the switch from Moto3 to the SuperSport 300 Championship. Under contract with Pearle Gebben Racing Team, he competed in the IDM Championship (Internationale Deutsche Motorradmeisterschaft). In his debut year, he has made great strides and managed to achieve no less than 6 podium places. In the end, he finished in 4th place in the championship. Also in 2021, he competed with this team in the IDM, which was a shortened season due to COVID-19, but here too he managed to get a number of podiums.

 

In 2021, Ruben made the switch to the FIM SuperSport 300 World Championship (www.worldsbk.com). In this year, Ruben has mainly become acquainted with new courses and the new championship. While Ruben had ridden a Yamaha until now, he made the switch to the MtM team with a Kawasaki in 2022. In that year, Ruben made a lot of progress and managed to finish in the top 10 continuously.

 

In 2023, Ruben switched to Yamaha in the World SBK 300. At the same time, in 2023 Ruben competed in the IDM championship (www.idm.de) with the Dutch Apreco TeENam - supported by Ten Kate Racing Products and Yamaha Motor Europe (Benelux) and managed to achieve podium in Schleiz. In 2024, Ruben has returned to the Kawasaki, with the French team Flembbo-PL Performances.  In addition, Ruben will again be active in the IDM championship with the Freudenberg KTM-Paligo Racing Team.
